Akron Beer Lovers

The Pub Ring Is Not a Newsletter Anymore.

It still has one. But now it has a stamp card, a few good bars, and a reason to actually leave the house.

The Pub Ring is a free membership for people who believe that the best food and drink in any city is never on a tourist map, never trending on Instagram, and almost always discovered by walking into the right place at the right time. We have been finding those places for years. Now we are giving you a reason to collect them.

How the Stamp Works

Each Pub Ring campaign covers three local bars, breweries, or restaurants worth knowing about. When you visit one, you get a stamp. Visit them all. At the end of the campaign, one member’s card is drawn. The winner gets a curated gift basket built from the places they just spent time in — local products, PFF picks, and things you would actually use.

No app. No points. No expiration date on the fun. Just a stamp card and an excuse to explore.

New campaigns launch in new cities as the program grows. If your city is not in a ring yet, sign up anyway. You will hear about it first when it is.

The Member Hub

The Pub Ring Facebook Group is where the community lives between newsletter issues. Stamp card photos. Campaign announcements. Drawing reveals. Local intel from members who have already been in. It is a private group, and it is free to join when you sign up.

If you want to run a Pub Ring campaign in your own city — to be the person who knows the right bars and wants to put them on the map — that conversation starts in the group too. We call them Fixers. Details inside.

What You Get in Your Inbox

Stories worth reading.
Not recaps. Not roundups. The Pub Ring covers the people behind the breweries, the pitmasters who have been doing it right for forty years without a Food Network appearance, the wing spots in cities you have never heard of that are better than anything you will find in a Google “Best Of” list.

Field notes from the road.
When PFF travels — Kentucky bourbon country, the Hawaiian North Shore, a smokehouse in the middle of nowhere Ohio — you hear about it before it hits the blog. The newsletter gets the unfiltered version.

Local intel.
Northeast Ohio is our home base. When something worth knowing about opens, closes, or deserves more attention than it is getting, the Pub Ring says so.

Gear and product picks we actually use.
When we find something worth buying — a rub, a griddle, a keg setup — we tell you why and where to get it. No affiliate-first thinking. The product has to earn the mention.

“I Can Do Another 12” updates.
We are traveling the world one wing basket at a time. Pub Ring subscribers hear about new episodes, location scouting, and wing discoveries before anyone else.

What You Will Never Get

A daily email. Sponsored content dressed up as a recommendation. Generic “Top 10” listicles. Anything that reads like it was written by a content farm at two in the morning.

The Pub Ring goes out when there is something worth saying. The stamp program runs when there are bars worth stamping. That is the deal.

Who This is For

You have driven out of your way for good barbecue and considered it time well spent. You know the difference between a craft beer and a craft beer with a marketing budget. You believe a great meal at a bar beats a mediocre one at a restaurant with better lighting. You are tired of food content that treats you like you need to be told what sriracha is.

If that sounds right, come in. The first stamp is waiting.
