Through a Twitter/Linkedin conversation we were introduced to the Cedar Falls Snack Co., which is a family owned farm in Southern Virginia that grows, harvests, cooks, and packages quality snacks (PEANUTS!) specifically made to compliment the craft beer we all love.
Cedar Falls Peanuts are the perfect craft beer snack
The Pints, Forks & Friend Crew had the pleasure of reviewing their “Session Series” Peanuts. The Session Series peanuts are designed much like a session beer, and we tried pairing them with a few different local craft beers from Northeast Ohio. We recently made a craft beer run because our inventory was running low;). We picked up some Platform Beer Co’s “The Cherimoya Project” which is a heavily dry-hopped pale brewed with cherimoya fruit and pomelo grapefruit, their “Red Cup” which is a piney red ipa, with hints of grapefruit, along with their classic “New Cleveland” Palesner, which has a crisp German malt body and noble hop finish. Also on the beer run we grabbed some Great Lakes Brewing Co. Alberta Clipper Porter, which is rich and smooth with tart raspberry & bittersweet chocolate.
Craft Beer Snack Pairings – Cedar Falls Snack Co.
In-Shell Spicy Peanuts – It’s a classic peanut in a shell, but with a nice spicy kick.
We thought it paired well with The Cherimoya Project, and New Cleveland
Blister Fried Salted Peanuts – Traditional salted peanut but the blistering process brings out intense flavor
We thought this paired well with all of the beers listed above.
Sugar Roasted Peanuts – Redskin peanuts roasted with sugar coating
We thought the Alberta Clipper Porter paired well with this sweet peanut
Chili Pepper Roasted Peanuts – Traditional peanuts cooked in chili pepper spices
We thought it paired well with The Cherimoya Project, and Red Cup
Overall the Cedar Falls Snack Co does not disappoint! Currently they only offer wholesale pricing for any store, bar, brewery, brewpub, taproom, etc. looking to compliment their craft beer section.
