When PFFMaestro, PFFNinja, and our special guest reviewer, Jay Thornton, decided to embark on a culinary journey, we knew we were in for a treat. Our recent meetup took us to the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, where we made a beeline for the Brew-Wing Lab nestled within the ODYSSEY Building.
The Brew-Wing Lab is a treasure trove of delightful delicacies. Its name holds true as the place offers an impressive spectrum of brews, perfectly complemented by a vast selection of chicken wings. The flavors? Oh, they span from the timeless Buffalo to something as whimsically daring as Peanut Butter and Jelly. And although these wings follow the “rack ’em & stack ’em” style, we found them to be nothing short of spectacular.
More About the Brew-Wing Lab at EPCOT…
Exploring the 2023 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival: Spotlight on the Brew-Wing Booth!
The 2023 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is officially in full swing, promising a world of culinary delights and experiences. As you navigate through a plethora of food stalls, merchandise shops, and even some foot-tapping concerts, the sheer volume can get a tad overwhelming. But fear not! We’re here to guide you, and today, we’re zooming in on a special booth – the Brew-Wing Lab. What makes it so special? Well, let’s dive right in.
Brew-Wing Lab: A Culinary Haven
As the catchy name suggests, the Brew-Wing Lab is all about flavorful brews and mouth-watering wings. The range is vast – from timeless Buffalo wings to adventurous ones like Peanut Butter and Jelly. Some favorites from yesteryears are making a comeback, while some menu items are entirely new. Oh, and if you’re a beverage lover, rejoice because all drink options this year are fresh additions!
The Star Dish: Scotch Bonnet Pepper-Curry Wings
Our culinary exploration led us to the Unnecessarily Spicy, Yet Extremely Tasty Scotch Bonnet Pepper-Curry Wings. Priced at $7.50, these come accompanied by a soothing cucumber yogurt. The name itself had our taste buds tingling in anticipation. Spoiler alert: The dish lived up to its name. If you’re into fiery dishes with layers of flavor, this one’s a must-try. However, brace yourself; it’s SPICY!
Good Old Buffalo Wings
For those who prefer classics, there are Traditional Buffalo Wings on offer, complete with celery and ranch, also priced at $7.50. Our verdict from last year stands – they’re straightforward, delectable, and pack just the right amount of spice. If you’re on the hunt for a trusty Buffalo wing dish, look no further.
Beer Flight Review
We also sampled the Beer Flight, priced at $10, comprising of:
- Sun King Brewing Caipirinha Lager: A light and invigorating choice, perfect for festival wanderings, sans any fruity or floral undertones.
- Brew Hub French Connection IPA: A floral surprise with the rich depth you’d expect from an IPA. Hop lovers, this one’s for you.
- 3 Daughters Brewing Old Fashion Porter: True to its porter essence, this one was malty, yeasty, and considerably denser than its counterparts. Though rich in flavor, it might be a tad too heavy for the sunny Florida weather.
So, is the Brew-Wing Lab worth your time? In our books, it’s a resounding yes! Whether you’re a wing enthusiast or a brew connoisseur, there’s something for everyone. Until next time, happy feasting!
